This dress I have made last weekend, I have been thinking to change style better as I did mistaken (again!!).
I cut the top part a little longer(I missed sign of 'mod' for pattern No.115... After I have read the magazine again, I have noticed something wrong...
Then I have checked pattern and noticed.... that sign....(Grrrrrrr)
In this evening, I have cut the top part and longer the skirt part for following the instruction precisely..
Now!
It looks much better!
This style, I could wear next 10 years.. haha!
Anyway, UK will be very hot next week, I will not the opportunity to wear the summer dress!
Have a nice dream!

Chinese satin dress
I actually done one dress a couple weeks ago from this pattern.
VOGUE V9050
And my dress is here. :)
This dress is from my revenge version again... I bought this fabric at Indian fabric shop and I used this fabric to another dress.
Unfortunately I made the size wrong - I made one size bigger!
Then, I had to re-assenble dress again and remake to another dress. And this is the one!
I have already worn this dress in this week.
However I have noticed some improvement points.. never mind! Next time, I will put these improvement points. Learning, learning..
Have a nice day!

Dress with Short Sleeves from burda July
While I was waiting for train at Waterloo station, I usually browse books shops and clothes shops.
And I have bought burda July. :)
This magazine is great. Fashion is the late style and all pattern are inside. Also with sewing instructions.
Every month, they use few pages how to sew the one particular pattern.
And there are many dress in the magazine are used that. So if you learned that pattern, you can use that technique to other patterns in that month.
I have pick up this dress.
The basic techniques of tops and gather parts with elastic, are all inside. To be honest, I couldn't figure out without that sewing lesson page to complete this dress!
I have used this fabric for this dress because I wanted to use this fabric.. I used it for A line skirt a couple month ago, it went wrong. Skirt type, fabric and my body size are totally mis-matched...
As I have a petit size, A line skirt is killer. This kind of skirt me look not fashionable at all. And showed my body miserable.. :((
I had to re-assemble all..
Anyway, my revenge has done!
The original pattern has hem bands however as I'm not tall, I didn't add it.
Looks success.. Phew..
One concern is this fabric is too cute. I'm amystery age 'forever 21' all the time, I thought how I could wear this..
Now I have a solution!
Using belt from HOBBS(elegant fashion brand!) and necklaces from Phase Eight, I could wear this dress classic way...
Have a nice day!

Organising Sewing Accessories
I'm currently working on one dress and suddenly thought I like to tidy up my desk more efficiently..
So! I have got the drawer from MUJI.
Lovely!
This box works well. Also if you need more boxies, you can buy it or different size from Muji.
These scissors, I used regularly. I have more scissors but other scissors were not used. (maybe I have never used. ) They are not high priority for me. Only high priority accessories are in this box. :)
Thanks MUJI!!

Maxi Dress - Behind the making
While I was reading the burda style book,
I absolutely loved this maxi dress. But I'm 5'3, I thought a little too long to me.
Then I showed this image to my sister in law - she is very tall as 5'7. (very jealous!)
She also loved this image and I have decided to make this for her.
Also it said 'EASY' - it should be okay for me!
I have bought light weight cotton at Indian Fabric shop. I showed this image to shop staff and he pulled fabric from the fabric mountain...
The colour is yes, coral colour. not pink, not red.
Also the pattern, only ONE pattern from the magazine! and I just cut the fabric carefully and following the instruction from the magazine.
the result was so good. Maybe I could make it for me using by the rest of fabric.
Have a nice evening,
Yasuko

(Tops from M&S, Necklace .. don't remember but it was £10)

Dog Skirt
This Dog Skirt, I have bought this fabric in Fabric warehouse in Uxbridge.
Shop staff was wearing the skirt from this fabric and everyone said 'look, so cute'.
So I bought the same fabric and made the skirt by another pattern.
(Tops from H&M. Necklace from Phase Eight)
I love this skirt so much! I actually wear this every week.
Pattern is from Beautiful Silhouette Skirt by Sato Watabe.
A gathered skirt.
This skirt should be easy - but I took 2 days..
But the result was all great - I was so pleased what I made!

Hello!
Hello!
My name is Yasuko who has just started a dressmaking and this blog is diary of my work.
Actually my first dressmaking was 12 years ago. After moving UK, I lost weight and all my clothes were not fit my body any more..
However I couldn't find nice clothe shop around my town - and I didn't want to buy non fashionable dress! (I didn't want to pay for non lovely clothes..)
I have decided to make my own. And I made some skirts and pants.
After that my energy for making dress has gone - so stopped making dress.
Nowadays, thanks for new technologies, there are many COMPUTER SEWING MACHINE.
When I saw it on YouTube, I was blown away... 'WOW!!!'
Thanks for my father in law, as birthday gift, now I have got Brother Computer Sewing machine and it's so fabulous..
Started sewing again!
I will post my work little by little as I've got only weekend for sewing.
Hope you will enjoy..
Yasuko
