Black Top - completed!

I have started to make a black top from left fabric which was used for summer pants.

The pattern is from 'Simple Modern Sewing' (Shufu to siesta sha)

and model..(not me, of course!)

To be honest, I was not fancy for this top. The reason is... here!

The pattern of shoulder part is quite tight and not covered that part.
If you are 20 age, you don't need to worry about showing this part however when getting mature age, this part will be the hint of to identify the person's age... (really)
Also if you have a little skinny body, this part should be hide or shows all otherwise your breast part shows very poor..

In this time, I haven't got enough fabric and this pattern was the one, could be spent all rest of fabric!

What I did was.... trying to cover that killer shoulder parts using frills.

so... I have cut frill part.

Cut fabric from little by little and attached together.

Then trying to find the best way to attach the frills on the top.

oh, looks nice.. okay, let's put all..

Lovely.. But! something not quite right.. and also it was a little difficult to put these frills to the perfect position.

Hmmmm....

How about this...

Oh! much better! This is the one!
The frills must covered the shoulder pats and it does.

And then, done it! I have finished this in this morning.

Details...

So happy!
(please don't say it looks like Hawaiian dress style..)

Have a nice day!

Black Top

I have one meter black cotton fabric which was left when I made black cotton pants before.
That black pants.... I started to sew 10 years ago.. and I just left behind without finishing.
I have found this a month ago and I did finished(finally 10 years later!).

This fabric, is good for summer but only 1 meter left..

Now I have found the solution to spend all fabric to make a tops!

on going.. image..

As not enough fabric, I'm using black binding from shop - not made from the fabric.

I have a little greedy project with this top.

Let's see..

Have a nice evening,

Liberty (style) dress

Last weekend, I have finished a maxi dress for my sister in law. It's ready to go!

Of course, I have started next dress for me.. However British summer is little cool now..
Hopefully I will be able to wear summer dress made by me!

Now I have just finished Liberty style dress. The fabric from my favourite indian fabric shop.

When I saw this fabric, it was very pretty but I was not quite sure that fabric could be suit for me or not as I have never chosen liberty style dress in my life..

Interestingly while I was researching the liberty dress from various dressmaking blog, this blog gave me so many inspired of ideas of fantastic dress making.

Lining day

It was very nice day yesterday.
After came back from shopping at Indian fabric shop, I spent time for practicing...
Ukulele

I have got this Ukulele last year's birthday (my 21st birthday - again) and I have been practicing little by little.
At the beginning, the sound was horrible, I watched YouTube and reading beginner's book to modify my posture of fingers.
Now sound is better but I still only knew few chords.. maybe in 10 years time, I could be better. Haha. :)

Today, I'm working for finishing pink maxi dress for my sister in law. I'm adding lining to this dress.
This dress nearly done.  This dress will be for her one of holiday clothes on the beach!

Have a nice evening,

Elephant Dress

Few weeks ago, I have bought the fabric with Elephant print at Indian Fabric shop.

My husband said this fabric was so lovely, I must buy it - but I was not quite sure what kind of dress or skirt could be used? This print is too indian and my poor imagination was stuck with dress from indian dress shop..
As my husband said I must buy it! I bought it..

I have been checking many pattern or fashion magazine - and reached at this print could be used long skirt or maxi dress. But not so fabulous idea..

But after making brown dress, I thought this was it! I could use the same pattern to make a dress!!

And the result.

Good! Well done me! :D
While cutting fabric, I carefully choose the print part. Back and Front has to match the print pattern.

Here is the attached part between front and back.
Almost perfect.

Also I added lining as well - no worries about inner.. :)

Summer has started from Last week(finally!) and I will wear this cool dress during summer time!
